The Caribbean has one of the best locations for solar energy in the world. We aim to make this technology available and afordable to all homeowners in the Caribbean. Whether you are able to tie your system to the grid and offset your electricity bills or want to use the power grid as a backup, we can design and install the perfect solar and hybrid wind/solar system for your needs.
We offer high quality PV panels by manufacturers such as REC, Solar World and BP Solar, grid-tie and off-grid systems, and expert installation. Ask us for an evaluation to see if solar is in your budget.
Have you seen our Caribbean Apollo Solar System?
Our technicians design complete home power systems for both off the grid and grid-intertied systems for all areas of the Caribbean and at all price levelsWe design and assemble complete package systems unique to your needswith every component you will need onsite except locally available wiring products..
Grid-tied Solar Electric Systems, also known as on-grid, grid-connected, or grid-intertied photovoltaic systems, generate electricity for your home or business and route the excess power into the electric utility grid.
Efficiency: The easiest way to reduce your electricity bills is to reduce waste. For every $1 spent on efficiency, it takes $3 to provide the equivelent amount of solar power. That means reducing waste is three times as cost effective as money spent on solar generating equipment. Start by reducing loads, replacing incandecent lamps with CFLs or even better, LEDs, and buying energy-efficient appliances, such as refrigerators, freezers, ovens, stoves, dishwashers, and clothes washers and dryers, which use significantly less energy than older appliances.
Current energy efficient refrigerators, for example, use 40 percent less energy than conventional models did in 2001. Following this, if all households in Europe changed their more than ten year old appliances into new ones, 20 billion kWh of electricity would be saved annually, hence reducing CO2 emissions by almost 18 billion kg.[8] In the US, the corresponding figures would be 17 billion kWh of electricity and 27,000,000,000 lb (1.2×1010 kg) CO2.[9] According to a 2009 study from McKinsey & Company the replacement of old appliances is one of the most efficient global measures to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases.[10] Modern power management systems also reduce energy usage by idle appliances by turning them off or putting them into a low-energy mode after a certain time. Many countries identify energy-efficient appliances using an Energy Star label.[11]
STOP - If you are heating your hot water from electricity, you do not need Solar PV. You need a Solar Thermal Water Heater first. Soler Thermal is 5 times as efficient as Solar PV.
Try this excellent system sizing calculator here.
We would lov to hear from you. Our focus is on designing systems to meet your needs. Please try to give us your monthly energy usage, which you can find on your bill shown as KWh per month so we can get an idea of how much energy you are currently using, and your voltage abd frequency. If you can provide you electricity cost per unit it will help with Return on Investment analysis.
Perfect for Caribbean Islands where Grid-Tie is not permitted
In locations where you wan to grid-tie your system, here are some sample configurations.
Please remember, prices change daily and will want to get you thte best prices available at that time.
Solar PV Rule of Thumb
Cost of system not installed
Off-Grid systems: $6 per Watt
Grid Tied Systems: $5 per Watt
There numbers are only estimates for planning purposes only and do not include labour, shipping, duty, locally purchased materials or expenses.
Perfect for islands with no grid-tie, very efficient and cost effective.
